For those unfamiliar with the name Jeff Brushie, or those who lived under a rock during the 90s snowboard craze, we offer some insight into one of the sport’s most celebrated athletes.
Brushie is one of the brightest and most popular snow-boarding international stars. Dedicating more than a decade to the sport, he dominated the 1990s Halfpipe competitions, won several World Cup events, as well as other world and national titles.
He would go on to design nine professional signature model decks - over half of them sporting a poker (go figure) or gaming theme. In 2000, he announced his retirement, “I wanted to go out fresh, and besides, I put my time in – in the cold.”
His passion for poker and photography began ten years ago. Today he’s a regular X-Games judge. During the 2006/07 World Series of Poker, Brushie was an official team photographer. His passion for the sport is clearly reflected in his craft.
